Smoobu is popular with European hosts running a handful of properties themselves — the channel manager and the booking engine in one, at a price that works below the scale where enterprise tools make sense. The people using it are usually the same people answering the messages.

Setup

Smoobu connects with an API key generated in your Smoobu account, so ProhostAI never sees your password.

  1. In Smoobu, generate an API key from Settings → API.
  2. Open ProhostAI and go to Settings → Connections.
  3. Search for Smoobu, select Connect, and paste the key.
  4. Wait for the first sync to finish, then check that your listings and upcoming reservations look right.

Good to know

  • Smoobu remains the system of record for availability and rates. ProhostAI reads bookings rather than pushing prices.
  • The first sync takes a few minutes; reservations arrive before the full message history.
  • Start Autopilot on one property so you can see the AI’s tone before it covers the whole portfolio.
  • Disconnecting stops the sync and leaves your Smoobu account untouched.

FAQ

Does this replace Smoobu?

No. Smoobu stays your channel manager and booking system. ProhostAI adds AI guest messaging and the operations around each stay.

Does it work with all my Smoobu channels?

Reservations Smoobu manages come through regardless of which channel produced them, so Airbnb, Booking.com and direct bookings are handled the same way.

Will the AI reply without me approving it?

Only if you turn Autopilot on. Until then it drafts and you approve, and you can enable it per property or message type.

Is my pricing affected?

No. Rates and availability stay Smoobu’s job; ProhostAI reads bookings rather than changing prices.

How do I disconnect Smoobu?

Open Settings → Connections in ProhostAI and disconnect it. Nothing in Smoobu changes.
